How to take:
Take Paxil exactly as prescribed. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. The dose may occasionally be changed to make sure you get the best effect from the medication.
The recommended starting dose for adults is 20 milligrams (mg) daily. Depending on your reaction to Paxil, your doses may be increased in 10 mg/day increments up to a maximum daily dose of 50 mg. Swallow the pill whole. It is specially made to release medicine slowly in the body.
If you have liver or kidney disease, a bleeding or blood clotting disorder, seizures or epilepsy you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely use Paxil.
Side effects may include: abnormal ejaculation, abnormal orgasm, constipation, decreased appetite, decreased sex drive, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, gas, impotence, male and female genital disorders, nausea, nervousness, sleeplessness, sweating, tremor, weakness, vertigo
